A real nice Patterson Hood recording...

Just found this recent Patterson Hood show up on the Live Music Archive. Thought I'd point out how good he played and how good it sounds. Thanks to the taper, Brooks Wilson. Nice work.

Michelle Obama @ University of Colorado

Michelle Obama spoke at the University of Colorado on October 1st, and I was lucky enough to have witnessed it. Great speech by an amazing person.

There were a few openers, including former Broncos Wide Receiver Rod Smith.

I had a nice spot way up front. Got quite a few good pictures. Also, brought my audio recording gear. The recording can be heard at the bottom of this post.

Spiritualized 2008-09-23 Ogden Theater, Denver

Here are a couple of songs from what more than likely will be my favorite show of 2008. Spiritualized played the Ogden Theater in Denver on September 23rd...and as I expected, I was again blown away by this great band.

The first song is my favorite song off the newest album (Songs in A&E). It's called Death Take Your Fiddle.

The second is either a new song, or a cover (I'm thinking new song based on the structure and lyrics since they are very J. Spaceman like). According to the bands printed setlist it is called Life Is A Problem, however according to THIS INTERVIEW, Life Is A Problem is a compilation of rare gospel tracks that Jason has been enjoying, so it's possible that the song has no title and it was just inspired by this comp, and therefore they are using that as the "title."
